Ingredients
1lb of spaghetti
3 tbsp. olive oil
3 tbsp. tomato paste
1 ½ cups diced white onions
1 ½ cups diced bell pepper
1 scotch bonnet (optional)
1 teaspoon Thyme (fresh, leaves or dried)
1 cube Maggi chicken bouillon or 1 1/2 tablespoon Chicken Bouillon Powder
8 hotdogs cubed or sliced (Hotdogs can be chicken, pork, turkey or beef)
1 smoked Herring fish
½ tbsp of Le Bon Gout Meat seasoning
4 cups of water
1 tsp of salt
1 green onion chopped (optional)
1 tablespoon Garlic (chopped)
Directions
- In a large pot bring 4 cups of water, 1 tbsp. Of olive oil, and 1 tsp of salt on to boil.
- Add the smoked Herring fish in the boiling water to soften (this method will also minimize the heavy salt content in the smoked fish)
- After the spaghetti is cooked, Drain and set aside.
- Rinse the smoked Herring in cold water, remove the bones, and chopped into small pieces
- In the large pot add 2 tbsp. of olive oil and sauté the hotdogs and smokes Herrings for 2-3 min.
- Add the tomato paste, peppers, thyme, chopped green onion, ½ tbsp Le Bon Gout Meat seasoning,1 Chicken bouillon Cube or powder, scotch bonnet pepper, onions, garlic; Cook for an additional 3 – 4 minutes while stirring occasionally.
- Add ½ cup of water and bring to boil
- Add the cooked spaghetti and mix thoroughly.
- Reduce the heat and let simmer for 4 min and serve.
