The Story Behind Le Bon Goût

Hi, I’m Dr. Claude-Marthe Cherizard, founder of Le Bon Goût Seasoning.

I was born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti by my father, who is an exceptional cook. Growing up, I watched him prepare delicious meals for our family, and one of my favorite memories is making my first pot of white rice as a pre-teen. I still remember the pride and sense of accomplishment I felt, and from that day on, I continued cooking while learning valuable tips from my father along the way.

The idea for Le Bon Goût began while I was in college. I frequently became sick after eating cafeteria food and later realized I was experiencing IBS symptoms. After leaving the school meal plan, I started preparing my own meals in the dorm kitchen using fresh herbs, vegetables, and traditional Haitian ingredients.

As I shared my meals with friends, they constantly asked what made the food taste so good. My answer was always the same, it was my homemade seasoning blend. Their encouragement inspired me to turn my passion for cooking into a business.

Today, Le Bon Goût proudly brings the authentic flavors of Haiti to kitchens across the country. We offer handcrafted seasonings, marinades, sauces, and gift boxes made in small batches using quality ingredients, with a commitment to freshness, flavor, and food safety.
